About Us

Liz Manning

Hi! Wanna know a bit about Ellie's Ewe Hues? Well, you've come to the right place. I'm Liz Manning, the sole figure in this operation. Ellie's Ewe Hues is a one-woman operation run out of a small kitchen in Raleigh, NC by me and me alone. (And when I'm not dyeing, I'm blogging about dyeing and knitting.)

I started dyeing in June 2006 when I took a dyeing workshop by Merike Saarniit at Camp Stitches in Lake Junaluska. It was a fabulous (and truly eye-opening) experience, and I've been hooked ever since.

I use Henry's Attic yarns and Country Classics acid dyes in my creations, and each skein is individually hand-painted. All the dyeing and drying is done in a smoke-free environment, though I do have two kitty helpers, so while I promise that the yarn is clean, if you are allergic to cats, please let me know when you order. If requested, I can wash and dry the yarn in a completely cat-free environment.

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the yarn! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.
